Guest speakers are organised for each evening meeting throughout the garden club year. The talks last one hour or just over and include a mix of garden-related subjects. All guest speakers share one thing in common – they are all passionate about their subject.
The programme for 2018 is as follows:
March 13th – Katherine Crouch on New Tricks for Old Gardeners. Katherine was BBC Gardener of the Year in 1999 and BBC Gardener of the Decade 2008
April 10th – Heather Godard-Key on Growing Pelargoniums. Heather is from Fibrex Nursery which holds the national collection of Pelargonium and Hedera
May 8th – Caroline Sheldrick on Medicinal Plants in the Garden
June 2nd – PLANT SALE in the Jenner Hall, Cricklade from 9am-11.30am. Plants and refreshments for sale.
June 12th – Jolene Morse from Whitehall Garden Centre on Herbaceous plants: their size, colour, performance and new varieties
July 10th – Curator Nick Wray on The Development of Bristol University’s Botanic Garden. Nick has been awarded RHS Associate of Honour for his distinguished services to horticulture in the course of his working life.
August – No Meeting
September 11th – AGM – Group Head Gardener at Bath Priory Jane Moore on Late Summer Colour
October 9th – Tamsin Westhorpe on Stocktonbury gardens. Tamsin was Editor of English Garden magazine and is now a partner at Stocktonbury.
November 13th – Mike Howarth on The Wonders of Westonbirt
December 11th – Margie Hoffnung, Conservation Officer for Gardens’ Trust, on Visiting gardens – a great British tradition
